Wankel engine Aidan Burns' Scrambled V Variation (iC cA sC)

Scarmblaed v variations:
Be sure to read the basic information first!

Turntables:
This is important to learn the patterns fast and to understand the underlying system (read more).

The pattern-table:

   1 2 3 1'
A p s p s p s -> B
B p s s s p s -> C
C s s p s s s -> M
M i C c A s C -> A

This table tells you what the jugglers do on every beat in one step. At the end of the table you see which role you a juggler has in the beginning of the next step.

The turntable:

iCstep
Name
1

2

3

4

A M B C
B C A M
C A M B
M B C A

In this table you can see which role you have at a given step. Write the names of you and your partners in the first column and read which role you take at the next, the previous or every other step.

In words:

  1. "i C": The manipulator intercepts self from C, and becomes C by this. Former C is the new manipulator.
  2. "c A": The manipulator carries a club to A.
  3. "s C": The manipulator substitutes a self from C.

Tips:

  1. The passes from the feeder are all  to the feedees, not to the manipulator.
  2. We stand in a triangle rather than in normal feed positions. This makes the pattern very speedy, but also removes a serious collision problem. There are reasons for the other name of the pattern: "Andy's Headache"!
  3. This results is a pattern in which the manipulator is running a circle in the middle of the pattern, while 3 jugglers stand in a triangle shape outside.
    The running is counterclockwise.
  4. We start with a slow start (a self for everyone), as M has to intercept a throw on beat 1 and it is much easier to intercept a throw from a running pattern.

More ideas:

  1. As described above, the manipulator is running counterclockwise.
  2. We tried to make a combination of the wankel engine and scrambled v, in which the manipulator moves clockwise.
  3. Both M1 and M2 will appear on beat 3 at C, whith scrambled V `s M wants to do an intercept from C to C and wankel enginges M wants do do a substitute from C to C at the same moment.
    There are some nice solutions for this meeting.
