V Aidan Burns' Scrambled V Variation (cB sB iC)

Scarmblaed v variations:
Be sure to read the basic information first!

Turntables:
This is important to learn the patterns fast and to understand the underlying system (read more).

The pattern-table:

   1 2 3 1'
A p s p s p s -> B
B p s s s p s -> C
C s s p s s s -> A
M c B s B i C -> M

This table tells you what the jugglers do on every beat in one cylce. At the end of the table you see to which new role the old role converts. In this reading M stays always M (the role, not the person).

The turntable:

iCcycle
Name
1

A M B C
B C A M
C A M B
M B C A

In this table you can see which role you have at a given cycle. Write the names of you and your partners in the first column and read which role you take at the next, the previous or every other cycle.

In words:

  1. "c B": The manipulator carries a club to B.
  2. "s B": The manipulator substitutes a self from B.
  3. "i C": The manipulator intercepts a self from C and C becomes the new Manipulator, and becomes C by this. Former C is the new manipulator.

Tips:

  1. Many people start the pattern with an extra substitute from A to B, just for the sake of the rhythm.
  2. Another good possibility is to start with the substitution of B`s self on beat 2, and to skip the carry in the first round.
  3. As the pass on beat 1 is carried by M, A tends to forget to count this pass.
